TRIBUTE TO BERNARD WELLINGHAM, JOYCE BAKER AND SHEILA KENT
At Holy Communion on 7 September, the service opened with the dedication of a window to Bernard Wellingham in recognition of his long and committed service to the church as churchwarden and PCC member. The congregation also paid tribute to the very significant contributions made by Sheila Kent and Joyce Baker over many years and bouquets of flowers were presented to them. The church is very appreciative of the continued involvement of Bernard, Joyce and Sheila in the life of the parish, and counts itself fortunate to have such committed individuals in the congregation.
CRAFT FAIR
Details of the Craft Fair will appear later. Once again it was a great success..We are very grateful to Dawn and Julie, their families, and everyone else who works so hard to make this annual event such a success. The proceeds go to the Wingfield Church Appeal Fund.
HISTORIC CHURCHES BIKE RIDE
At the time of going to press, we did not have details of the sums raised through this year’s Bike Ride, so we will publicise the information at a later date.

THE BELLS AND THE TOWER
The regular (and faithful) band of ringers continue to practice hard. They now ring regularly before the Family Service and for all other special services so were well to the fore over the Christmas and Easter periods.. Trevor Hughes from the NE Region of the Suffolk Guild comes on alternate Tuesdays to give concentrated tuition and progress is noticeable. We need more ringers now that some of our older ringers are having to stop so if there is anyone who would like to have a go just turn up at 7.30 pm on a Thursday or ring Celia Clement Smith on 586252.REQUESTS FOR PRAYERS
There is a Prayer Request book now at the back of the church and anyone is invited to enter any request for prayers for the sick or for any particular cause.(See Home page for church opening times) or ask any of the Lay Elders.
GUIDELINES ON HOW TO ARRANGE SPECIAL SERVICES
Guidance Notes for Local Residents in Wingfield on how to arrange Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals etc. have been produced and copies are available at the back of the church.
LAY MINISTRY
The Lay Elders continue to play a very big part in keeping the church going in Wingfield. We are sad that we have lost one - Peter Smith - who has gone to live in France.
